Setup order

The essence of the setup is that you need to allow calls from your @siptg account by adding it to your contacts, then select your home region and enable call forwarding from your number to the service phone number issued by the bot.
1
Add @siptg account to your Telegram contacts
@siptg (open) → ︙ (top right corner) → Add contact → DONE
2
Start @siptg_bot and go to the section /forwarding
In the bot you need to specify the number to connect and its home region, and receive a number for forwarding.
3
Enable unconditional forwarding to a number from the bot
Forwarding can be enabled using a USSD request **21*ROOM# or through the personal account of the telecom operator (if the USSD request gives an error). The forwarding NUMBER is indicated together with a plus sign, without parentheses. For example, for Moscow the request might look like this: **twenty-one*+79958883945#
4
Make a test or confirmation call to the connected number
If Forwarding is not connected to a Telegram account number, a number verification procedure is required. The bot needs to specify a number from which it is possible to make a call to the connected number, and then within 5 minutes make a call from the number specified to the bot.
5
Try the service in action, evaluate the savings, connect to a paid tariff in the section /tariff Бота
That's all you need! If everything is done correctly, the test call will come to you in Telegram on behalf of the account @siptg.

Checking your privacy settings

In addition to adding the @siptg account to your contacts, it is important that your account does not have a ban on receiving incoming calls. You can check this in the corresponding settings section Telegram:

☰ Menu → Settings → Privacy → Voice calls

Features of the “Roaming” scheme

  • The cost of the forwarding service is paid according to the tariff plan of your telecom operator

  • SMS messages are not transmitted when forwarding

  • Some mobile operators in some cases unfairly charge forwarded calls even to local numbers as roaming calls if their SIM card has been spotted abroad. To avoid a similar problem with the relevant operators, we advise you to enable call forwarding until you cross the border and not insert their SIM card into your phone abroad. We also advise you to clarify the charging rules for calls in roaming of your operator.

If you need the ability to not only receive incoming calls, but also make outgoing calls from your number, see how to connect your SIP account to our Telegram softphone.

If you need to collect and make calls from several numbers, look scheme of work “Many numbers”.
