Setting up scheme "Roaming"

Allows you to receive only incoming calls to your Telegram phone number for free via your @siptg account. At the moment it only works for telecom operators from the Russian Federation.
Convenient for receiving calls in cases of location:
While roaming (travelling, emigrating)
Outside cellular network coverage but with internet
With this scheme, all incoming calls to your phone number can be diverted to Telegram and received through your @siptg account. So you do not have to pay for roaming while you are travelling or immigrating. For numbers from the Russian Federation, the setting is literally a single action.

IMPORTANT: this feature does not require activation of any of our tariffs.

We provide our resources for this feature for free. If you'd like to donate, please share SIP.TG with your friends and colleagues (find out more about our features).

Setting procedure

All Russian subscribers need to do is to select one of the SIP.TG numbers closest to theirs and set up call forwarding from their number.
1
Select the nearest city from the list below and copy the phone number in it to configure forwarding
2
Enable unconditional call forwarding to a number in the selected city
You can activate call forwarding via USSD request **21*NUMER# or via Consumer office of telecom operator (if USSD request gives an error). The number for call forwarding is specified with a plus sign, without brackets. For example, for Moscow the request will look like this: **21*+79958883945#
3
Allow your account to be found by phone number for @siptg
☰ → Settings → Privacy → Phone number → Exceptions → Always allow → Add → @siptg (SIP.TG calls)
4
Allow incoming calls from @siptg account and add it to your contact list
☰ → Settings → Privacy → Calls → Always allow → Add → @siptg (SIP.TG calls)
5
Write any message to the @siptg account, such as Hello!
In response you will receive a service message from the bot, you can ignore it. This action is needed to explicitly activate the privacy settings for the account.
That's all you need! When the call is received, our robot will see from which number the forwarded call is coming and will redirect it to your Telegram account with the same number.

USSD-request to disable forwarding: ##21#
You can also disable forwarding in your personal account or mobile application of the service provider.

Important! Some mobile operators of the Russian Federation (TELE2, Beeline, Yota), in some cases unfairly tariff forwarded calls even to local numbers as calls in roaming if their simcard was noticed abroad. To avoid such problems with the respective operators, we advise you to enable call forwarding before crossing the border and not to insert their sim-card into your phone abroad. It is also advisable to clarify the roaming call charging rules of your operator.

How incoming calls are received

Incoming calls in the Roaming scheme come from the @siptg account (SIP.TG calls).

At the same time with the call will come a separate message containing the caller's phone number (in some cases also the name), as well as buttons for navigating through the voice menu (can be useful if the call came from a robot).

Checking the privacy settings

Be sure to add @siptg account to your contact list (go to the account and click "Add to contacts" in its profile).

Also make sure that @siptg account has the phone number that your Telegram account is registered to.

To do this you need to allow @siptg account to find your phone number for
☰ Menu → Settings → Privacy → Phone number → Exceptions → Always Allow → Add @siptg (SIP.TG calls)
It is also important that your Telegram account does not have restrictions on receiving calls.

To do this, you need to allow voice calls at least from @siptg account
Menu → Settings → Privacy → Voice Calls and select All or add @siptg account (SIP.TG calls) to the "Always allow" section

Features scheme "Roaming"

  • The call forwarding service is charged according to your service provider's tariff plan

  • Your Telegram account must be registered to the number you are forwarding to

  • SMS messages are not transmitted when diverted

  • Function so far only works with Russian telecom operators (we are ready to cooperate with telecom operators from other countries, let them know about us)

If you need to be able to not only receive incoming calls, but also to make outgoing calls from your number, or if you need to receive and make calls from the number of another country (not RF), or if you want to receive calls from a number that you can access through SIP, it is done by the scheme of work "Consumer".

If you want to set up a Telegram softphone for the whole team and manage SIP accounts of your employees, check out The "Office" scheme of work.
